Gone Huntin'

David and Eli ready for an afternoon of waiting on deer - deer that never came in 2016.
No one killed anything during the season :(

Happy 13th Bday Bosco

On Saturday, February 27th we celebrated "Battalion Chief Boscorelli Abston" (this is his official name on his AKA papers) or "Bosco" for short.  Bosco turned the BIG 13 on February 3rd.  Bosco has been around longer than our children.  He is a great companion and we wanted him to know how much he is loved.  He received some great soft treats from his Mim and Nanny and a cute little b'day card.  Bosco spends most of his day just relaxing on his bed or laying on the front porch watching the cars go by.

Checking out his loot - notice his new brother, Diesel, wanted in on this action too!

He has been grey for so long you forget how dark and vibrant his coat was

Random January Photos

On Thursdays we have park day with the neighborhood families.  All of the boys usually bring a weapon of some kind and they just play hard while us moms talk.  Well one of our moms happens to be a photographer and takes pictures during play group.  She is amazing so the photo above and below are hers - all the credit goes to Teth Lee Photography.  She is an AMAZING natural light photographer.  Go check her out on FB and book your next photo shoot with her.

Luke showing off his frat boy hair!! HA!

Eli wants so badly to play football - we were at the sporting goods store and he just had to try on these padded football pants and shirt.  He also requested I take his picture! He still has on his eye black from baseball tryouts! He is a cute football player though!

Monster Jam - Atlanta, GA

We went to Atlanta to see Monster Jam a few weeks ago.  We drove over on a Saturday afternoon, spent the night in ATL and drove home Sunday morning.  It was a great family outing and it was a couple of "firsts" - first time for Eli to sleep in a hotel room and first time for the boys to actually sleep in the same bed.

You can tell we do not do much traveling since these were "firsts" and Eli is 5 years old!

Showing off their $15.00 (yes, $15.00 per kid!!!!) icees!

It was a cold rainy night in ATL.  We knew the forecast wasn't great so we brought our rain gear.  Our hotel was a 20 minutes or so walk to the arena.  We were safe on the walk back to the hotel because we had Batman a/k/a Eli walking with us :)

We have been to Monster Jam in Birmingham but the BJCC is a small venue and David wanted us to have the true Monster Jam experience where there were lots of different jumps.  I will admit the show was much longer.  It was about a 2.5 show!!

Geography Bee

Luke participated in his first Geo B and did great.  As you can see there were 11 kids that participated from the 4th and 5th grades.  It came down to Luke (4th) and one 5th grader in the final.  Luke came in 2nd.  I was so proud of him.  He did great!! He is now the one to beat next year.

MMA - Abston Style

The boys loves to watch MMA - so it goes down like this at my house CONSTANTLY!

Eli has a mean ankles-crossed headlock.  If he can ever get under Luke's chin - Luke will either be choked out or tap out!

Popcorn & Wieners

The boys wanted to roast wieners over the fireplace.  So we decided to also make "old fashioned" (lol!) popcorn on the stove top too.
 Before

 During

After - Luke didn't want to eat his because it was burned.  We made him - we said all wieners over a fire are burned - it's a right of passage, so eat it!!

"Old Fashioned" Popcorn - ha ha!! It was pretty blah.  You forget how good the microwavable movie butter kind really is.  We added LOTS of salt and that made it much better!
